Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of Kalinga Institute of Information Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in India, officially inaugurated the Daffodil Institute of Social Sciences (DISS) on November 14, 2022. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil International University and Daffodil family presided over the program. The function was also attend by Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. SM Mahabub-ul Haque Majumdar, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Mominul Haque Mazumder, Treasurer, Dr. Nadir Bin Ali, Registrar of Daffodil International University, Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Family and Mr. Jahangir Hossain, Project Director, Daffodil Institute of Social Sciences.
"Continuation of beauty is more important than creation of beauty. When two good people come together and are in love, there is a great outcome. Founder of Daffodil Family Dr. Md. Sabur Khan and me are like brothers, and our affection has led to the initiation of Daffodil Institute of Social Sciences (DISS) today, also inspired by Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, KISS University in Odisha, the only fully free fully residential tribal University," noted Dr Achyut Samanta, the founder of KIIT and KISS Universities, while inaugurating Daffodil Institute of Social Sciences (DISS) in Ashulia, Dhaka.
DISS has started its journey as a completely non-profit organization providing services to the most vulnerable underprivileged children of the society. Daffodil International University and Daffodil Foundation have developed this institution as a part of Academic social responsibility to develop children as efficient manpower and citizens keeping in mind the theme of 'Grow up with values and respect'.
